Limitless: Season 1, Episode 2: Badge! Gun!
Poor Brian. I’m sure this isn’t what he had in mind when the FBI told him he would be working with them. The NZT is giving him such a large amount of energy and insight that he wants nothing more than to work on cases. He wanted so bad let to get out there and solve crimes that he snuck out twice and both times were really clever. Regardless of intelligence and potential however, he almost got himself fired. There’s a chain of command in every government agency and no one is okay with that chain being broken or even rattled.
This episode of Limitless was a lot more fun than the pilot. Where that one was more or less a shorter version of the movie, this one was allowed to spread its wings a bit. We got to see what someone on NZT is capable of and the emotional effects Brian has to deal with in his struggles. Getting out of his small office was one thing and getting his father a healthy liver was another, but seeing what he has to deal with in Eddie Morra is a whole ‘other ball game.
While the cast continues to perform admirably, I’m wondering where this season is going to go. It seems like a highly episodic crime of the week type of series, but it’s up to something with Senator Morra. It’s still establishing itself so there hasn’t been any revelations as to what the overall plot is, so we’ll likely get into that more later. I’m definitely enjoying myself so far though. It’s definitely working out.
