Castle: Season 8, Episode 2: XX
Got some answers! A lot more than we expected or even knew we wanted actually. Who knew Castle’s father was remarried? To another spy even! She was pretty bad*ss too, swooping in at the perfect moment to save Beckett and Vikram. What was even smarter, was her demanding a recap of Beckett’s whereabouts. It gave us her point of view of everything that happened on last week’s premiere without feeling forced or slowing down the pace of the episode. Beckett needs action and adventure, it’s been proven to us time and time again. Even Bracken knows it.
I guess I should say Bracken knew it, because he’s no longer with us. In last week’s review, I said I was pretty sure we were going to see his death, but I had no idea it would be this soon. They’ve built him up to be such a powerhouse that it was actually a pretty smart move to make his death a demonstration of how dangerous this new big bad is. These LokSat people are the real deal. Not only did they kill him, but they killed him while he was in solitary confinement. This is going to be a very difficult run for Team Castle this season, as the episode ended on a note that is usually reserved for this series’ season finales.
It hurts to see these two be separated yet again. Poor Castle. He only wants to be with Beckett and she can never seem to stay still. There’s always some reason for the two of them to be apart. Sometimes it seems as if she’s trying to find or even make reason on purpose. I’m just wondering what she’s going to do about her new promotion if she’s packing bags and moving out. Where exactly is she going? Plus it was a d*ck move to leave the door open when you left Beckett. You gave the poor guy false hope.
Seeing as how this is the beginning of the season, this can get really serious in the coming weeks. Let’s see where it leads.
One last thing: How about that desk gun? Awesome that they used it already right?
