Gotham: Season 2, Episode 2: Knock Knock
Gotham is already getting more and more interesting, which may or may not be a good thing this early in the season. Bruce actually got so upset, that he fired Alfred of a little while. My only question is who was going to raise him with Alfred gone. I wasn’t aware a child was capable of firing their legal guardian. If that’s the case, I know quite a few children this secret needs to be kept from. Of course they reconciled and it even resulted in Lucius Fox joining the team. It seems like Batman’s training is finally about to start. Seems a little early, but I guess this show would have to be on air for quite some time for us to get a glimpse of the Dark Knight himself.
There were some pretty heavy happenings this week. The Maniax (an interesting name) were all over the place. Jerome and Barbara are clearly the stars of that show. They’ve just been killing everyone else. They’ve already lost two members in this one episode after the one they lost last week. So other than Jerome (who seems a little too Jokerish) and Barbara (who is a far cry from from her comic book counterpart), they only have the big mute guy Aaron. Speaking of Barbara, what is going on with Gordon’s comic love interests. Barbara is a full-fledged villain now and Sarah Essen is frickin’ dead! Who saw that coming? Insanely tragic, but at least it got Bullock back in the game.
I think it’s pretty safe to say they’re going completely off book here (no pun intended) with this show. Most of Batman’s villains have already appeared. Let’s not forget about the insanely awkward, but ever crazier Edward Nygma. The entire GCPD has been torn to pieces and I’m really interested in seeing where this is going. I’m also interested in seeing where Gordon’s relationship with Thompkins is going. They never had a relationship in the comics, but they’re pretty promising here. I just hope they show what the Penguin has been up to next week.
